Riding sits at the heart of Cycling Clan.
It’s how like minded cyclists connect, locally & across borders.

Some rides are social & accessible, others more focused and performance-driven.
They happen close to home, or around travel, events, & shared ambition.

There is no expectation to ride everything.
Participation follows interest, availability, & curiosity.

Rides

Rides are organised locally and coordinated through the Cycling Clan Strava club.
This is where routes, dates, updates, & participation come together.

Local chapters manage their own rides, reflecting their rhythm & context.
Some rides are recurring, others form around events, travel, or shared ideas.

The website provides orientation.
Strava is where riding actually happens.

How rides are organised

A group of six cyclists riding on a mountain road surrounded by rocky terrain and sparse vegetation, with a road sign in the background.

Rides take different forms, shaped by place, people, & intent.

Some are regular & social, designed to be accessible and easy to join.
Others are more focused, shaped around training, performance & shared goals.

Beyond local riding, the network also comes together around travel, events, & long weekends.
Gran Fondos, training camps & longer-format challenges are all part of the rhythm.

Not every ride is for everyone.
Choice & flexibility are part of the culture.

Types of rides and events

Riding formats

  • Participation in established races, Gran Fondos, and endurance events.

  • Some ride to compete, others to complete, but the experience is shared.

  • Going together matters more than outcomes.

Official events

  • Social ride weekends, training camps, and destination formats organised by the network itself.

  • These rides focus on time spent together, community, and shared experience.

  • Pace and structure may vary, inclusion does not.

Cycling Clan events

  • Regular local ride-outs form the everyday rhythm of the network.

  • They are accessible, often informal, and sometimes spontaneous.

  • This is where people return, connect, and gradually become part of the community.

Local rides

No single format defines participation.
Choice and flexibility remain central.
